Phonebooth Café: Charismatic Aura of old European street cafe comes as a refreshing flavor in the heart of North Campus!

If you had been ever mesmerized by Sherlock Holmes running in old british streets, passing by red brick walls and standing by a phonebooth , and I suppose you are a foodie too, that nostalgic feeling can be deduced here in the heart of Hudson Lane at “PHONEBOOTH CAFÉ”. The Era of 1950’s has been revived at phonebooth as a addon to their super delicious and mouth watering dishes.

Last Saturday, When I entered this café, I was mesmerized by their old world street theme having iconic phonebooth. The Café is a delight for North campus students and seems an ideal place for spending some time out with friends and family.

Phone Booth Café, a one of its kind café-bistro is a reminiscent of an old era.  The Café has red and white tones creating a classic look of 1950’s. Brick walls along with railings and outdated lamp-posts have been carved and to add to nostalgic feeling a red phonebooth has been kept too. It has a comfortable seating area for 30-35 people. With IPL going on you could catch the matches screening here too.

Menu:

Kiss of Dragon

The proximity of colleges to the cafe has given a deep thought in designing the menu, which offers quick bites, shakes and more. The Menu has loads to offer like street foods, Chinese, Indian, International etc. If you are a foodie I would recommend to try a lot of items as food is really delicious over here. The must-try items at the restaurant are their pizzas like Dragon’s Kiss, Afghani Chicken Tikka, Reshmi Kabab, Crispy Chicken burgers, Zaffarano pastas, tandoori starters and the amazing shakes like blueberry pie, Red Velvet etc.

Our favourites:

Arabiata veg

The food is so yummy so I could try many dishes and each of them will make you feel crazy and each dish I tried has certain USP in it.

I started with Nacho Salsa chaat which is a delight as a starter, it’s a  Mumbai-joins-Mexico style dish that lure your heart and mind, giving you a taste of indian spicy bhelpuri but full with nachos.

PBC special chilly chicken

The chilli chicken was hot and spicy, a typical Punjabi style chicken – super crisp, perfectly spiced and making your taste buds go shouting for more 😉

Brownie Shake

The shakes that we tasted could simply be the best of the lot, The blueberry pie shake is a pie in the sky, It had different style and it was really awesome in taste. There were blueberry extracts in the shake and the red velvet was a perfect blend that had red velvet cake, light on sweetness and stand on top of the shake list.

Dragon’s kiss, the name itself was exciting to order this and not my surprise it was so crazy and delicious pizza that I have ever tasted. It had ingredients like chilli chicken with bell peppers, pickled onions, Sichuan peppercorn sauce and Caribbean Chicken {West Indies style jerk chicken with jalapenos, mushroom, peppers and garlic} are mouth watering too. The freshly prepared inhouse pizza base was crisp too. The fusion is really carved well.

Hospitality:

The staff is well dressed and friendly, always serving with a smile on their faces. They will also come to your table and ask if you like what you ordered. The serving time is reasonably well and you have to wait much for your orders.
